Aeon Health: Software Developer (Senior - Intermediate)

Aeon Health, a Vancouver-based software startup innovating the future of healthcare. We are seeking two full-time software developers skilled in Ruby/Rails, JS, and SQL to join our growing team.

As a small, early stage startup you will get to write your own story at Aeon Health, while working with seasoned startup veterans to help you navigate your journey and growth.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience developing in Ruby/Rails, JS, and working with SQL in a test driven environment.
• Desire to work in a small, fast-paced, agile startup environment.
• Strong communications skills, and customer-centric orientation.
• A keen eye for design and good UX/UI.
• A growth mindset, along with a desire to teach and learn from others.
• A natural problem-solver that leans into new challenges.
• Someone who’s equally comfortable self-directed or as part of a team.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with Rails Hotwire/Turbo, modern javascript framework (React, Vue,

Svelte, etc), Tailwind, and mobile development.

• Familiarity with product management or agile processes.
• Comfort with DevOps (AWS, DO, Azure etc.)
• Degree, diploma, or significant training/experience in development.
• 3-5 years of developer experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience with the healthcare industry.
• Ability to travel to our Vancouver office a few times a year.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other team members and our customers to build and maintain AeonHealth's web applications using Ruby on Rails and related technologies.
• Write and maintain clean, well-tested code that is easy to understand and maintain.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and contribute to the team's development process.
• Contribute to a feedback oriented culture through technical mentorship and coaching less experienced team members.
