We are currently seeking a Graduate Java Developer to join the BGL Team




We are currently seeking a Graduate Java Developer to join the BGL with a passion for learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. This is an exciting opportunity to impact an industry using the latest Java and React technologies whilst furthering your learning and professional development. The role is based in our Melbourne office and you will be developing web applications utilising clean code principles.

About the role
  • BGL will provide you with ample training and resources to assist you and reach your career ambitions. You will become familiar with:
  • Frontend: TypeScript, JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML/CSS
  • Backend: Java, Scala
  • Web Security Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Kubernetes and Docker Containers Agile Software Development;
  • MySQL, Spring&SpringBoot, Rest APIs;
  • Clean Code Principles, Code Reviews;
  • Automation (unit test, integration test, CI/CDs);
  • Utilise Jira and Confluence to monitor project progress and share knowledge.
The team you are going to work in is very supportive and emphasises communications and design as a team. If you want to grow into a mid-level or Senior Developer, we can provide you with the pathway!

About you
With proven time management and problem-solving skills, you’ll bring a basic understanding in front and back end concepts. Ideally, you will possess:
  • Some experience in a mainstream programming language
  • Strong and creative communication as well as team player qualities
  • Familiar with building full-stack web products using open source and cloud technologies
  • Eager to learn new things and solve problems
  • A desire to learn in writing clean code (easy to understand, maintain and change) and having simple solutions to complex problems
