React Job Details

We are searching for a person who is fluent at front-end Javascript, ReactJS, CSS and accessibility. You will be developing the front-end for back-ends we have developed, and you will also be responsible for our non-React front-ends (CSS, HAML, Twig).

Tasks

You are solid in React, HTML, CSS and know your way around static site generators such as Zola or Pelican. You know about Preact, and you are excited about Deno, NodeJs or Bun (you are a frontend developer though, so don’t worry, we wrote “excited” : ) ).

You can write Javascript and Typescript, and you know how to make websites WAI WCAG AAA compliant. You prefer XHTML documented, validated, compressed and with a clean DOM. You know when to use quirks mode and you act according to best-practice in mobile web design, device independence, multi-modal interaction, usability, design for older users, and search engine optimization (SEO). You know Linux and have experience with PHP and Wordpress, and you can write HTML and CSS plainly or with preprocessors such as HAML/SASS. You know Bootstrap, Foundation Zurb or Bulma, and you know how to create flexbox grids. You have experience with the Laravel Blade or Twig template engine and know how to structure your markup so it has minimal overhead. You are confident with Git and you can integrate in a team with backend coders and design enthusiasts.

Requirements

  • Exceptional skills in JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Solid know-how in modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Redux, Vue, NextJS.
  • Experience with design handoff tools. Knowledge of Sketch and Zeplin is a plus. Experience with providing markup in templates & partials.
  • Excellent in HTML, CSS, SVG and other markup
  • Strong experience with browsers and web technologies (Firefox, Chromium) and a strong understanding of the differences between operating systems (mobile, web, MacOS quartz, DPI differences across systems)
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of web typography and how to prepare and embed web fonts
  • Strong understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2 and Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG)
  • Strong experience with Git
  • Fluent in english (written and spoken); German language is a plus but not necessary.
